Under Construction – Inner City Living in St Kilda – State of the Art Apartment Complex

Located in old St Kilda – at 20 Blessington St, just west of Barkly St, is SLR Concepts Building and Construction’s current premier project – a modern new apartment block to be completed in the next 6 months.

In a sought after location, the new complex offers access to St Kilda’s famous Acland St and Barkly St dining and nightlife, yet is a quick 10 minute walk to the beach, the St Kilda Marina, the nearby Botanical Gardens, the Renfrey Reserve and the Peanut Farm Reserve. The new apartment building will be 3 levels high with two retail locations available on the ground floor level. This will be combined with 4 two bedroom apartments, with off-street parking, a private lift for access and a spectacular rooftop garden. Architect designed by Idle Architecture Studio, this will be a fully enclosed and sustainable building offering excellent security. Currently work has now progressed on to the upper stories.

Stage One of the project saw the set-up of all underground services, bored piers, footings, excavation and completion of the car stacker pit and all ground floor concrete works. This was completed by August/September.

Upon completion of that stage, the base elevation (RL levels) were situated and confirmed. Concrete works have been completed. At that point it was time for the next stage to then proceed.

This is an interesting site with somewhat limited access. It requires a modicum of exceptional building expertise and a variation on what would be normal construction protocols.
